Running Track Materials and Marking
Running tracks can be laid out on different surface materials, depending on their intended use. Professional and permanent running tracks are usually placed on a surface of polyurethane as it considered ideal for running as well as being environmentally friendly. The polyurethane layer is normally placed on top of an asphalt or concrete base layer.
However, for school sports and athletics, running tracks are often used on grass surfaces. This is where line markers, both manual and automatic, are often used to mark out all the individual running tracks.
Using an automatic field painter, it is possible for one operator to complete a 400m running track in only 2 hours. This process would require a lot more work and more people due to the complexity of the running track curves.
We also offer templates for a range of other sports types.
