The Shire of Esperance

The Shire of Esperance is located on the South-East coast of Western Australia covering an area of 42,000 square km / 16,200 square mi. The shire is responsible for looking after a range of services from the library, pool and home care through to roads, recycling and beach maintenance.

Completing line marking tasks faster

Most of the road projects are over 100 km / 62 mi away from the office and the surveyors are not allowed to stay onsite which meant a lot of overtime driving to and from site. The TinySurveyor allowed the survey team to dramatically reduce their travel costs as well as completing line marking tasks in a matter of days rather than weeks. This reduction in manual labor needed meant the aging surveyors had fewer sick days, caused by fatigue and body strain from marking dots in the hot and remote conditions.
Their TinySurveyor is driven by a Leica GS18 GNSS receiver via network correction.
